Daily Scripture & Questions
Matthew 25-26 How would you summarize the main points of the three parables in Matthew 25? Note that in the parable of the sheep and the goats, it is what we do or don’t do for “the least of these my brothers.” How we treat other Christians is a critical mark as to whether we are saved or not. In chapter 26, note how Judas addresses Jesus compared to the way the other disciples do. In Matthew 26:50, Jesus calls Judas “friend” but this is not the usual word for friend, rather it is just someone who is taking advantage of a privileged relationship. Are you a real friend or are you a make-believe friend of Jesus?
Family Devotions-Scripture & Questions
Read Matthew 26:30-35, 60-75. What did Peter promise Jesus? Why did Peter end up weeping bitterly? After receiving the Holy Spirit (later, as recorded in the book of Acts), Peter is fearless in the face of opposition. Ask the Holy Spirit to make you bold today. Remember, without the Spirit all the brave claims that we make will amount to nothing. Ask the Holy Spirit to make you bold today.
