Daily Scripture & Questions

Malachi 1-4 Malachi was probably a contemporary of Ezra and Nehemiah.  His wake-up call comes in six parts, all responding to a question from the people.  What are the questions in 1:2-5; 1:6-2-9; 2:10-16; 2:17-3:5; 3:6-12 and 3:13-4:3?  How are verses four through six of the last chapter a summary of Malachi’s main points?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions

Read Malachi 2:10-16. The people ask, “Why does God not hear our prayers, even when they are often with tears?” What is the Lord’s response through Malachi? Have you made the commitment to only date and marry someone who has a strong, unmistakable commitment to Jesus? Will you be faithful to your marriage vows? How can you develop faithfulness now, even if you are not married?

Biblical Prayer Focus

Ephesians 3:14-19  “For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

Pray that the Spirit would help you welcome Christ to dwell in every room of the house of your life. Ask that you would be able to comprehend more and more of the beyond-knowable love of Jesus.
