Daily Scripture & Questions

Psalm 26, 40, 58, 61, 62, 64 Are your closest friends those who will build you up or tear you down as a follower of Jesus Christ (Psalm 26)?  Has God given you an “open ear” (Psalm 40:6)?  If not, is that something that you should pray for?  When we pray for Jesus’ soon return, we are also asking that God would judge the earth righteously. Keep this in mind as you read the psalms of great victory.  Note how often there is a theme of betrayal in the lies of an enemy.  Give God your heart, especially the deep ruins of betrayal that so many face at one time or another.

Biblical Prayer Focus

1 Kings 18:36-38  “And at the time of the offering of the oblation, Elijah the prophet came  near and said, “O LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word. Answer me, O LORD, answer me, that this people may know that you, O LORD, are God, and that you have turned their hearts back.  Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.”

Ask the LORD to make clear to the people around you that He is the one and only God.  Beseech Him to turn people’s hearts back to Him and to truly know Him.
