Daily Scripture & Questions

Luke 1; John 1:1-17 After 400 silent years, since the time of Ezra, Nehemiah, Malachi and Esther in Persia, God now breaks through with the coming of the Messiah.  As you read Luke 1, imagine yourself as Zechariah or Elizabeth or Mary.  What does Luke 1:21-25, the song of Mary and prophecy of Zechariah, tell us about the Messiah?  What does John’s prologue tell us about the Messiah before He took on flesh?  What did Jesus come to reveal to us?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions

Read Luke 1:26-38. What did the angel tell the young teenager Mary? What did he tell her about the son she would miraculously conceive in her womb? Will you respond to the Lord today in the same faith and trust as she did back then?

Biblical Prayer Focus

Psalm 61:1-3 “Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy.”

Sometimes it feels like we are just going to faint in the midst of the challenges we are facing. There are times when we feel far from God and wonder if He is listening to us. If you are “confessed up” then be assured that through Christ He hears you and will answer according to His wisdom. Ask on behalf of others whose footing is giving way . . . that they might stand on the rock!
