I Peter 1:1-3:7 What are some of the things for which we should bless (praise) God (see 1:3-5)? Peter addresses believers in what is today northern Turkey and helps them to be ready to deal with suffering of all kinds. What do the various trials we face help reveal in our lives (1:7)? We need to prepare our minds for action and be clear headed (1:13). What should we be thinking about? Why is a clear focus on our identity in Christ as holy and chosen by Him so vital in facing suffering for Him while doing right? Chapter 2:11-3:7 tells us how to live as strangers and aliens in a hostile world. What are we commanded to do in relation to authorities over us? To masters over us? To husbands? To wives? How does the example of our Savior, Jesus, help us as we face these different challenges (2:21-25)?

Biblical Prayer Focus

Romans 15:5-6  “May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Seek the Lord for His provision of endurance and encouragement, especially providing what is needed to experience harmony with other believers to His glory.
