Women’s Small Group: Try It Tuesdays are starting back up every third Tuesday of the month. Our first class will be September 17, at 7:00 pm. Back by popular demand, our very own Janette Ross, with How Great Thou Art ministry, will be leading us in a step by step original painting. Lost and Found (BR Campus): Please check the lost and found to see if any of the items belong to you. We have several water bottles, clothing items, books and videos. Items not claimed by September 15 will be discarded or donated.
Come join us for the 11th Annual Praise Him in the Park Christian Music Concert on Labor Day, September 2. It will be held at the Hemlock Park Bandshell and music will start at 10:00 am. Lee and Melanie Johnson will be performing along with the DavidYonkerBand and Hadley Hope. This is a free event and is open to all the public. Parking is behind the Big Rapids Middle School. Bring your lawn chair.
Give the Gift of Reading! Volunteers Needed: SLD Read’s Language Links Volunteer Program has been helping at-risk children in West Michigan since 1992. As a volunteer tutor, you will be placed with a student (enrolled in 1st-3rd grade) that is at-risk for reading failure and who is significantly below grade level in reading and spelling. These students do not qualify or receive Special Education services. There is no fee charged to either the parents or the school. All tutoring is done during the school day. Requirements: Tutors must complete SLD Read’s Phonics Fundamentals training (32 hours) offered in September 2019, complete an internship with a Master tutor, and be available two hours per week for one academic year in the Big Rapids area schools. Bible Study Fellowship is a great Tuesday night women’s Bible study available to our community. The fall’s first meeting is September 10, 6:45-8:15 pm, at Fellowship Christian Reformed Church. GriefShare will be offered on Monday evenings, September 9 through December 9, 2019, at Resurrection Life Church (14734 215th Avenue, Big Rapids), from 6:00-7:30 pm. GriefShare is a Christian support group offering support and encouragement to adults who have lost a loved one to death. There is a registration fee of $15.
