I was born in Louisville, KY and then soon after moved to Crystal, MI, where my dad got his first job as a pastor. At the age of 4, we moved to Alma, MI where dad became the pastor of First Church of God and where I would spend the rest of my days as a youth. I was active in sports, participating in cross country, basketball, and tennis. My youth group was a big part of my life and is where I really began to hunger for God and His word.
In 1994 I married my beautiful wife, Laurie, and began attending Central Michigan University. After changing my major from construction management to elementary education and then back to construction management, I graduated after 5 years. During this time, I worked as a painter and Laurie and I volunteered with the middle school program of our youth group as leaders.
Following college graduation, we moved to Battle Creek, MI, where I opened an office for Edward Jones and became a Financial Adviser. God used Edward Jones to help me learn many things and I am so thankful for those years.
After 8 years with Edward Jones, I followed God’s call into ministry and became the Camp Director at Bair Lake Bible Camp in Jones, MI, and was there for 2 1/2 years. Then, in 2010, we moved to Rodney, MI and I joined the staff at Cran-Hill Ranch as the salesman. We immediately began attending Trinity Fellowship and soon after began helping out with Powerhouse. On March 30, 2015, I joined the staff here at Trinity and I am so excited to be a part of what God is doing here.
I enjoy playing sports (especially basketball, table tennis, and disc golf), reading, spending time with family, figuring out how things work, learning new things, doing new things, making people (especially my kids, Ellie, Tate, and Jackson) laugh, lingering in good conversation, the outdoors, and caramel frappes from McDonald’s.
