Daily Scripture & Questions
Ephesians 4-6 Ephesians 1-3 gave us the great doctrinal truths of what God has done for us. Now, in chapters four through six, Paul challenges to live (walk) in a manner worthy of that calling. What are some of the descriptions of a mature Christian given in 4:13-16? How does 4:17-24 capture the three main components that are critical to us growing in the Lord (the exchanged life) – being renewed in our minds, putting off and putting on? Which specific applications from 4:25-6:10 do you need to remember today? Consider praying through the armor of God asking that you would be clothed with each part in Ephesians 6:10-20.
Family Devotions-Scripture & Questions
Read Ephesians 6:10-20. When the apostle was under house arrest, how did he use the armor of a Roman soldier to give us a picture of the Spiritual armor that helps us to win in the battles that we face? What are the different pieces and for what do they stand?
Biblical Prayer Focus
Psalm 62:5-7 “For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.”
Ask the Lord to help you, and those you are praying for, to be able to wait on Him during the storms of life. Request that you be able to see Him as that firm foundation, the rock that cannot be overwhelmed by the wind and the waves of circumstances. Plead for that inner confidence in Him that will keep you from being shaken.
