Daily Scripture & Questions

Job 17-20 Bildad (chapter 18) and Zophar (chapter 20) say Job must be wicked to suffer so, for God punishes the wicked and the wicked are the ones who suffer.  In the midst of his pain, Job affirms his belief in a Redeemer who will bring things to a victorious conclusion that will allow Job to see God (19:25-26).  Are the Bible’s prophecies about God’s final victory “interesting” to you or are they “vital” teachings that you cling to for hope?  For whom are these teachings the lifeblood of their hope?

Family Devotions-Scripture & Questions

Read Job 19:25-26. Have you ever had to wait a long time and began to think that you were forgotten?  Did you remind yourself that your loved ones would certainly come to get you?  Jesus is alive and well, and He will come back for you!  He has not forgotten.

Biblical Prayer Focus

Ephesians 6:10-1 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”

Ask for clarity to see the devil’s schemes for what they are and for the Spirit’s power to do battle with those that we cannot see.
